pre med - part 5

THE LAST WEEK

It was the last week I would be here for this course.. Sedar tak sedar, it had been 5 weeks already. the scariest thing is the exam on the friday. We didn't had much time for revision. During our foundation, we were given a week for revision but now we were given only one day to revise. how could we revise in one day?? Unfortunately, I had to accept that this is what medic is all about.. everything must speed up including revision. To top of that, we still had another syllabus on that last week and it was about the liver and gall bladder. It was interesting but yet lots of things to be remembered and learned and that topic will be tested on Friday of that week too. So, I had to cram up my brain with all this stuffs within the few hours of lectures.

The exam consist of three parts altogether. The first part is MCQ questions..Kind of easy, rite? Actually, it's not..Because marks will be deducted for every wrong answer. So we cannot use the principle that our former teachers told us during our secondary school which is " try to answer even if you don't know".. The reason is, doctors should not make wrong choices in real life. If we dont know, then dont try guessing. It's totally dangerous. The MCQ was held for 1 hour with 100 questions (see? I tell ya, it's not easy). Then after 10 min breaks, the essay question started. The essay consists of three questions, each on every subject: anatomy, physiology, biochemistry. We had to choose one question only. The exam is for 15 minutes. Then we have this test called OSPE. The exam had 20 stations with different kind of question and stimulus. Then we answered those questions in turn. One station is for 3 minutes. Here it goes. First we have to answer a question from one station. It does not necessarily to start at 1st station. It can be either the 20th station or any station too as long as we rotate and answer all the questions. As soon as the ring bells, wehad to switch to next station. It goes on like this until we answered all questions and returned back to our first station. Looks like fun, rite? It was fun though 3 min is a very short time. And the questions were actually simple yet confusing. That makes the exam difficult. I had done my best, so I hope I will get the "blue pen" result =D
